English Wine Week Events

English Wine Week is a week-long celebration of all things English Wine. Vineyards and local producers are putting on special events to celebrate the week.

England is becoming more and more synonymous with very high quality wine production. Vineyards in England have been around since the early 60s where they were planting lesser known grape varieties such as seyval blanc.

Over the last 20 years, English vineyards have been planting more of the Champagne grape variety (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier) due to the very similar soil and growing conditions of Champagne, and the resulting wines have been truly incredible.

Every year, wine making in England is advancing and pushing the boundary on what has been typically known as English Wine. Now we’re seeing Champagne houses buying up land in England and creating their own English sparkling wine brands.

The most famous being Taittinger who have just released their Domaine Evremond brand. If you can get your hands on a bottle you will not be disappointed.

What is English Wine Week?

Every year towards the end of June, there is a week long celebration of the English wine making industry. Local wine producers will put on special English Wine Week events, tastings, winery and vineyard tours.

If you visit local towns in counties that are known for English Wine, such as Sussex, Surrey, Kent, and Hampshire, you will find bars and restaurants creating special limited-edition menus offering English Wine Pairings.

When is English Wine Week?

English Wine Week typically takes place towards the end of June. This year, it is running from 20th June - 28th June 2026.

English Wine Week Events

If you live within a wine growing region of England my recommendation would be to always go to your local vineyard. That way not only are you supporting a local business but you are also discovering the terroir (a fancy wine nerd’s term for the ecosystem that has supported growing the grapes that go into that bottle of wine) that you live in.

Below I’ve compiled a list of some English Wine Week events that are happening across Sussex and Kent.
